The problem of domestic violence, its determinant is one of the most important in Ukrainian society. After the difficult socio-economic processes characteristic of Ukraine in the period of its establishment as an independent state, affecting mostly leave the micro-social - family and institutions derived from it. In particular, the standards have changed understanding of the officially registered marriage as the foundation of the family, increased the number of families who live below the poverty line, background spread phenomenon - alcoholism, drug abuse, decreased ability to influence public family, cases of violence against children, the elderly and t . n. Improve the situation in the sphere of combating domestic violence contributed to the adoption of November 15, 2001 Law of Ukraine “On Prevention of Domestic Violence,” which defined the legal and institutional framework for the prevention of violence in families, institutions and agencies, which relies on the implementation of measures to prevent domestic violence.
