The article describes peculiarities of teaching English for exams. Nearly every foreign language teacher has experience of teaching an exam preparation class. It can be easier to teach exam class than a general English class as the students are more motivated and have a certain goal though the teachers may have less flexibility in designing their courses. Careful planning and appropriate balance between teaching and testing is very important. Teachers have to find out as much as possible about the content and format of the exam, the dates, time, location of the exam and procedural regulations. |
