The migration of terms into the common lexic takes place through various media formats and channels. Due to the frequent use of terms in the press, radio and television, broad dissemination of technical and scientific knowledge by the media, terminological units are gradually absorbed by readers, so "words for experts" become "words for all". By penetrating the specialized register, this lexic gradually becomes enriched, growing into a cultural component of "cultural literacy". The study of the migration process of the terminological units in the common lexic based on the examples in the English legal vocabulary has shown that the described process is not natural and that we can observe the stages of determinologization. The indissoluble link of language as a social phenomenon of society is visible in the lexical composition of language, which responds directly to social processes and phenomena. The vocabulary of a language undergoes constant changes not only with knowledge, development and technology of the world, but also with the wider reflection of events that took/take place in society through the media. This results into the emergence of the terminological lexic within the common lexic. On the basis of linguistic factors favoring the passage of terms in the common lexicon is the linguistic law of the economy, which is now manifesting more and more often. Terminological unit is a chemical process of a scientific concept, for the decipherment of which we need a detailed description of the process or phenomenon. A term appears in the common lexic as a specialized lexicon of the discourse, a certain conceptual model that is embedded in a word or phrase. |
