Rezumat

The author considers transformation of the individual representative of the middle class in terms of reforming society in contemporary Ukraine. It is concluded that in conditions of economic recession, rising unemployment, corruption and uncertainty of the future, constructive personality traits representative of the middle class is not in demand. It’s hard work, dedication to the profession and their work, a high degree of responsibility and sense of duty, high pragmatism and individualism, competence and organizational skills, ability to think prospectively, the presence of skills to effectively organize its activities and the work of other people. At the same time aktualisierte socially destructive personality traits. This feeling of fragility, uselessness of their work, periodic presence of feelings of fear, powerlessness, inability to affect the course of events. There is a desire to resist social order and reform – since the reforms lead to a painful personal transformation. The result is the image of the middle class as a destructive social force and ideological arises a request for the formation of images of other social groups and classes as a positive, capable of constructive social activity.
