Infravesical obstruction is result (24.8%) of a scar formation process of different etiology in the region of the urinary bladder neck and can be one of the most frequent complications (15.5%) after a prostate surgery. Currently bipolar plasma surgery was introduced as a promising alternative for patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and urinary bladder sclerosis (SCVU). Method consists in vaporization of the scar tissue due to the action of plasma ionization crown. 19 patients with a mean age of 69 years and secondary SCVU were investigated, treated using VBP and supervised for a period of 3 months. Between the preoperative period, first, and 3 months after surgery, the mean values for Qmax were respectively 7.2 ml/s; 24.8 ml/s and 24.7 ml/s. In the same period of time, the average PVR was 115 ml, respectively, 23 ml and 28 ml. Regarding symptom scores before surgery, IPSS and QoL were respectively 21.5 and 4.4 points. During surveillance, these parameters dropped in 1 and 3 months to 3.5, 3.6 and 1.3, 1.4. VBP was performed successfully in all cases. There were no intra- or postoperative complications and the blood loss was insignificant. So VBP is generally a proce202 VARIA dure which benefits from an excellent endoscopic visibility, reduced bleeding and increased safety |
