The role of echocardiography in the diagnosis of primary dilated cardiomyopathy – clinical-hemodynamic relations
Echocardiographic (Echo) examination is considered to be a”golden methods” in the
diagnosis of dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM). An innovation of this technique is the myocardial
performance index Tei (ITei). This study analysed many Echo indices to a total of 11 patients of both sexes (media 6.4 years), diagnosed with DMC. In conclusion, the initial clinical
presentation in children with DMC was the severe form of heart failure (63.3%). Significant
Echo parameters in diagnosis was: ITei, EF, SF, LVEDD, LVESD and LAD. The ITei is a more
objective assessment of contraction function of the heart in cases with preserved EF and SF,
which allows initiation of early treatment. |
