Rezumat

Being considered the first monotheism in the history of religions, the Amarnian period is a special time in the evolution of the ancient Egyptian society. In art, the pharaoh introduces a new aesthetics, asking for lack of idealization. His physical deformities would constitute a new ideal of beauty. There are anatomic details which had never been represented in art before. Moreover, the private life of the royal family is captured in art; the expression of feelings between its members, the dynamism, the realism of representation, the feeling of space are features which characterize an exceptional art different from the millennial tradition of Egyptian art.
