With the creation of the Moldavian SSR, the communist regime introduces new mechanisms to close the churches provide for coercive measures against the clergy, who was accused of gossip against Soviet power, the collection of funds for repair of churches, the service divine parishioners from other localities than those entrusted etc. For these and other fabricated accusations against clergy, some priests were deposed and deprived of dinner - therefore being closed churches in serving. In this article the author will try to point out tactics and communist methods of marginalization of the Orthodox Church in Moldavian SSR during 1944-1965. |
