The article, Why we like literature. How to write a critifiction, is an analysis of the poetics of the novel Jurnalul lui Dracula (Dracula’s Diary) written by Marin Mincu.
The novel is a false historic novel (closed in a diary with a large foundation… of the memoirs) and it is considered a historic anti-novel. In Marin Mincu’s novel Dracula is the Devil, a Satan of Baudelaire for whom the feeling of revolt is the fundamental mobile of knowledge. Like Daedal, who finds out how he can leave the (mythical!) construction without exit in which he has been closed. Dracula has an aim to be situated on another Gnostic platform, namely the platform of thinking-writing as a domain sui generis of the possible. Therefore
the character lives more profoundly in writing than in reality. Annihilated by history, Tepes the diarist searches for myth, entering the universal glory. |
