An anatomical investigation of 79 specimens of human fetuses and newborns, and ultrasound examination of 32 infants was conducted to determine the ultrasonographic parameters of the sigmoidorectal segment, the typical macro-microscopic signs of the sigmoidorectal segment, the variant anatomy of the sigmoid colon, and the chronological order of the framing of the topographic-anatomical relationships of the sigmoidorectal segment with the adjacent organs and structures of the abdomen during the perinatal period. The sigmoidorectal segment in the perinatal period is characterized
by the following features: a narrowing of the colonic tube and the absence of adipose appendages in the transitional region between the sigmoid colon and the rectum, the formation of the solid muscular layer of the large intestinal wall of three muscular bands, the presence of the rectosigmoidal angle, and O’Bern-Pyrohov-Moutier in the transverse semi-ring fold of the mucous tunic. The sceletotopical projection of the sigmoidorectal junction in the dynamics of the perinatal period is shifted caudally-from the middle of the body of the lumbar vertebra in the fetuses of the 2nd trimester to the middle of the body of the sacral vertebra in newborns. |
