Rezumat

Two new mononuclear complexes belonging to the series [Cu(sal)(AA)(ClO 4)] (sal = salicylaldehydate, AA = aromatic diamines) have been obtained and crystallographically characterized. In the two compounds, [Cu(sal)(Me2-bipy)(ClO4)] and [Cu(sal)(bipym)(ClO 4)] (Me2-bipy = 4,4′-dimethyl-2,2′-bipyridine; bipym = 2,2′-bipyrimidine), the copper(II) ions exhibit a square pyramidal geometry with the chelatic ligands forming the basal plane and the perclorate anion coordinated in the apical position. The spectral properties of the two compounds were investigated in UV, visible and IR domains.
