Musical folklore represents the national heritage of our people and the main pillars of the identity of the Romanian nation. Musical folklore has its roots in the wisdom and knowlwdge of the Romanian people, representing the totality of the creation of the Ro-manian spiritual culture. Through the knowledge of popular music in the Music Educa-tion classes we offer a possibility of free, creative and unrestricted affirmation of the students. The knowledge of popular music must represent a source of interest with a per-manent resonance amoung the current generation of students. We set out to analyze the didactic dimension of musical folklore, by identifying some important aspects of a music education lesson in which we cultivate the spiritual feeling of students through popular song. Through the process of cultivating the spiritual experience of popular music in stu-dents, the teacher has the role of promoting popular music within the music education lessons and making the students aware of traditional Romanian culture. |
