The paper aims to bring to the fore the two concepts in the title, which blend perfectly - collaborative and libraries, making an assessment of the main benefits that these principles bring in libraries in building and capitalizing on a profession, a system that forms the basis of any training, the key point of any community. These being clarified from a conceptual point of view, we intend to bring in the picture some examples of good practices that are based on this "collaborative" principle and which have been discussed for some time in the library world and are gaining ground. Starting from the collaboration with the office colleague, the collaboration with the services, the sections of the same institution, the collaboration with institutions from the same “level” and reaching collaborations, partnerships with local, national or international state or private institutions, NGOs, associations etc., we find that this principle is the one that occupies a primordial place in the growth, capitalization of the true value of the institutions called libraries.
