Competent and rational modernization of the educational process in a music school contributes to the acceleration of the musical and technical development of a guitarist student, which allows a systematic approach to solving the problem of improving the technical skills of guitarist students, which is necessary for the full development of their performing and musical culture. Work in this direction should have a developing character, creativity and an individual approach to each student. The research problem is to determine a specific methodology for working on a piece of music in a guitar class based on the fingerstyle playing style, which allows students to develop the necessary performing skills. The purpose of the study is to substantiate the methodology of work on the development of the necessary performing skills in the guitar class at the children's music school. Object of study: the performing style of playing fingerstyle in the process of learning to play the guitar in a children's music school.
