Rezumat

In recent years, museums of «living history» have become increasingly popular in Ukraine and abroad. According to international definitions, a museum of living history is a museum on the basis of which exhibits are modeled after historical and archaeological artifacts; you can touch and try them on yourself; photos and videos are allowed without restrictions. Some such museums allow visitors to live on their territory and practice the so-called «immersion» in the object of study. In Prykarpattia region, even traditional museums increasingly use «living history» methods when working with visitors, especially with schoolchildren. The Museum of Folk Architecture and Life of the Prykarpattia in the village of Krylos (Ivano-Frankivsk region) becomes a platform for ethnographic festivals and historical reconstructions (St. Andrew’s vechornytsi, caroling). They are also actively used by the Pokuttia Museum (Horodenkа). Another area of work of such museums is family thematic photo sessions in national costumes. Now such a service is successfully offered by the Ivano-Frankivsk Museum of Local Lore, the National Museum of Folk Art of Hutsulshchyna and Pokuttia (Kolomiya) and the Pokuttia Museum. Such photo sessions allow visitors to familiarize themselves with the diversity of culture and regional features of folk costumes. In addition, the Ivano-Frankivsk Museum of Local Lore, on the basis of the updated exposition «Urban life of the late 19th - early 20th centuries», offers thematic photo sessions in costumes of this period. In general, the use of elements of «living history» allows modern museums not only to get closer to visitors and attract guests, but also to actively promote the historical and cultural heritage of Prykarpattia. At the same time, they become a base for scientists and an educational platform for lessons in history, ethnography, and local history.
