Rezumat

The article analyzes the category of good developed by the outstanding Russian philosopher Vladimir S. Solowjov (1853-1900) in one of his most famous and significant works entitled «Justification of the Good» (1897). Considering this idea in Solowjov the author of the article focuses on such a “paradoxical” feature of good as its rational determinism, as well as its inherent creative and active nature, which manifests itself in a relentless struggle with “bad reality”, seeking maximum convergence with it. Good in the philosopher's system is immanent to human nature and his mind; it is embodied in the “united” personality of the (“common life of people”). The primary natural foundations that characterize a person as a moral subject include, according to Solowjov, three feelings - shame, pity and reverence.
