Rezumat

The Bureau of the Communist Party of Moldova applied similar methods of suppressing „nationalist” sentiments in Moldovan universities: simple expulsion of all teachers and students who supported these sentiments in universities and replacing them with „proven” personnel who did not allow such statements in the past. In the case of the Chişinău Polytechnic Institute, the defeat of the „nationalist”-minded cadres delayed only the personal respect of the members of the Bureau of the Central Committee to the rector, S. Rădăuţan. But when some compromising information was discovered on him as well, the leadership of the republic immediately got rid of him and carried out a „cleanse” postponed for 2 years. There was no such weighty figure in the TGPI for the leadership of the republic, so they acted more simply and decisively there, quickly dismissing all the undesirables. Although a number of teachers who shared the same views still continued to work there and information about their „nationalist” statements continued to come, but now the authorities did not react, believing that the problem was solved and individual anti-Soviet statements from their side would not do.
