The aim of this article is to examine the eff ect of the COVID-19 pandemic on the professional and personal aspects of composers and musicians’ lives, the changes and shifts brought by the COVID-19 in their fi nancial status, consistency of work and sense of accomplishment. The researched set of data based on profound analysis of statistics confi rm the heightened susceptibility of the classical music industry to the dramatically turnaround refl ected in closing concert venues, isolating musicians not only socially, but also fi nancially. This phenomenon also determined major metamorphosis in musicians’ inspiration and motivation, their emotional experiences being severely damaged by the feelings of loneliness and uncertainty. While confronting disruptions in their creative processes, aff ected by the severe restrictions caused by the pandemic, musicians develop feelings of insecurity and fail to fulfi l their essential psychological needs. Despite the faced obstacles, musicians found new ways of continuing to manifest their creativity. The information investigated in this article shows that up-to-date devices have permitted them to continue their artistic activities through online concerts and contribute to escalating the classical music consumption to unimaginable triumph.

Scopul articolului constă în examinarea efectului pandemiei COVID-19 asupra aspectelor profesionale și personale ale vieţii compozitorilor și muzicienilor, precum și a schimbărilor ce s-au produs în consecvenţa muncii, în sentimentul de realizare, dar și în statutul lor financiar. Cercetarea se bazează pe o analiză profundă a unui set de date statistice, ce confi rmă sensibilitatea sporită a persoanelor din domeniul muzicii academice, în special, schimbările dramatice legate de închiderea sălilor de concert, fapt care a condus nu doar la izolarea muzicienilor din punct de vedere social, ci și la limitarea posibilităţii unui câștig fi nanciar decent. Acest fenomen a determinat, de asemenea, metamorfoze majore în inspiraţia și motivaţia muzicienilor, trăirile emoţionale ale acestora fi ind grav afectate de sentimentele de singurătate și incertitudine. Confruntarea artiștilor cu restricţiile severe cauzate de pandemie a afectat procesul de creativitate al acestora și a dezvoltat sentimente de nesiguranţă ce au avut un impact negativ asupra stării psihologice a oamenilor de artă. În ciuda obstacolelor ce au apărut, muzicienii au găsit noi modalităţi de a-și manifesta în continuare creativitatea. Investigaţiile propuse în acest articol demonstrează că dispozitivele moderne le-au permis artiștilor să își continue activităţile prin realizarea concertelor online, fapt ce a contribuit la creșterea audienţei muzicii academice, aceasta atingând o treaptă înaltă de popularitate.
