Rezumat

In the harsh conditions, the Romanian theological education from the communist period functioned, providing the human base contributing to the development of the spiritual and intellectual treasure of the Orthodox Church. For the Romanian Orthodox believers living abroad, more precisely in Hungary, studying in Romanian theological higher education was a great challenge and at the same times a serious recognition. The young Romanians from Hungary who chose the Orthodox Theological Institute from Sibiu found themselves in a special situation, because in addition to overcoming the social differences and the difficulties arising from the different secondary education systems in the two states, they also suffered the activity of operative surveillance of the Securitate. This study is based on operative files kept in the Archive of the National Council for the Study of Security Archives in Bucharest, reconstructing the operations carried out by UM 0110, called independent counterintelligence unit for socialist countries, against two young Orthodox from the Romanian community in Hungary.
