Rezumat

Turkish Language and Literature and Turcology departments are a discipline that examines the Turkish language, the development of Turkish literature in the historical process, its evolution, general structure and its connection with other world languages. With these features, it is one of the important disciplines of the field of social sciences. However, when we look at the literature, it is seen that although there are many academic studies on these disciplines, scientific studies on the field are not sufficiently examined. In this study, it is aimed to examine the postgraduate theses in the field of Turkish language and literature and Turcology made in universities in Turkey. In this context, in this study, postgraduate theses in higher education between the years 1960-2022 were examined, especially in the fields of Turkish Language and Literature and Turcology. In study, literature review and descriptive analysis method were used. 150 theses from the 'thesis name', 18079 theses from the 'subject', 'index' in the relevant fields from the results of the search made on the 'Thesis Search' page of YÖK Thesis Center (https://tez.yok.gov.tr/UlusalTezMerkezi/tezSorguSonucYeni.jsp) 353 thesis data were accessed from his name. Findings obtained -subject, index, type of thesis, year of the thesis, place of the thesis, scientific method used in the thesis, etc. their distribution according to the criteria - presented in statistical tables. As a result of the study, it was determined that more postgraduate theses were made in the fields of Turkish Language and Literature and Turcology, and the topics of Turkish, Turkish language, linguistics, education, Turcology, Turkish language and literature were used more frequently. In addition, it has been observed that the number of theses in the field of Turkish language and literature is higher and more theses related to both fields are prepared at Gazi University. When theses made in higher education are evaluated in terms of scientific research methods used, documentary scanning, descriptive analysis, bibliography method, questionnaire and test method, literature review, content analysis etc. It has been determined that evidence-based learning skills-based methods are used. In addition, it has been observed that research methods similar to disciplines such as information and records management are used in these fields and scientific studies are produced with a multidisciplinary approach. Conducting such studies is associated with the fact that the evidence-based learning model is used to gain students social and emotional learning skills in higher education.
