One of the main directions of the healthcare security system is the identification of patients. Incorrect patient identification can lead to errors of varying severity, leading to long-term loss of health, increased financial costs for both the patient and the healthcare system. Depending on the consequences of patient misidentification and the form of guilt, the offender may be subject to disciplinary, civil and/or criminal liability. The development of a patient safety culture in a medical institution and the introduction of a system that ensures the correct identification of patients improves the quality of medical care, reduces the number of medical errors and associated adverse medical, legal and other consequences.
