As reading proficiency is a fundamental skill for academic learning and success, it is essential to be aware of the students‘ reading habits and skills and consolidate these skills by using appropriate reading strategies, when necessary. This study aims to explore the advantages of active reading strategies in deepening students‘ understanding of literary texts. The study responds to the increasing concern that the number of students who are not prepared to discuss readings in class is growing. |
