Neonatal thromboembolism is a rare, but complex disorder, with interaction of hereditary risk factors and acquirred environmental and clinical conditions. Newborns are at particular risk for thrombosis due to the unique characteristics of their haemostatic system, perinatal complications and interventions. Timely identification and appropriate management thrombotic disorders can avoid significant long-time pluriorganic and neurologic sequelae.
