Based on the original archive sources, in the custody of the funds of the National Archive of the Republic of Moldova, the article analyzes the educational activity and in the field of physical training in Bessarabia of the Independent Corps of Gendarmes in 1867-1917. The importance of the research is determined by the fact that the gendarmes represented a specialized state institution in the suppression of the national current in Bessarabia, the Russification of the province and its transformation into a simple Russian government. Using documentary data, the author investigates issues related to the process of educating gendarmes, combat training, in the composition of which an essential role was given to physical training. |
