Introduction. The Koch Collection of old and rare book, which holds 2 very valuable editions of the work „Occult Philosophy” (De Occulta Philosophia) by Heinrich Cornelius Agrippa, is kept in the collection of the Scientific Medical Library of the Nicolae Testemitanu University. The publications are some of the oldest books in the R. Koch Collection (16th century). The purpose of the work. Capitalizing on publications (by Heinrich Cornelius Agrippa) that reflect the occult philosophy. Material and Methods. Studying and presenting the mystical elements described in books (figures, diagrams, pentagrams, Kabbalistic elements, etc.). Analysis and synthesis of researched publications and descriptive method. Results. The special elements in the books have been identified. Manuscript notes (translations, decipherment of occult symbols, etc.) were also analyzed. Conclusions. Both editions of the book „Occult Philosophy” was recognized as a significant contribution to the Renaissance philosophical discussion of the powers of magic and its relationship to religion. These books were designed to be more scholarly and intellectual than mysterious and ominous. |
