„Crâmpeie din viaţa unui talent supravegheat” constituie o mică porţiune din viaţa unui cetăţean adevărat – Dumitru Batrânsea. De mic copil el a reuşit să-şi demonstreze calităţile. A fost cel mai bun elev în şcoala sătească, cel mai apreciat student la Institutul Pedagogic, a scris cea mai reuşită teză de doctor în ştiinţe..., dar, pe lângă toate avantajele, mai avea şi o „meteahnă”: îi plăcea să citească, era setos de cunoştinţe şi împărtăşea doar adevărul, se războia cu minciuna. Anume aceste „apucături” s-au lăsat observate de securitate. Din anii de tinereţe şi până la sfârşit muncea cu abnegaţie. Era admirat de colegi (elevi, studenţi, profesori), scria articole, poezii. A elaborat o teză de doctor în ştiinţe, a scris o monografie, însă toate au fost neglijate, stopate, dispărute. Nimic nu s-a realizat definitiv. Nimic n-a ajuns la generaţiile următoare. Asta a fost soarta unui talent supravegheat de către regimul totalitar comunist, în care a crezut, doar la începutul carierii sale

„Fragments of the Life of a Supervised Talent” represents a piece of the life of a genuine citizen – Dumitru Batrânsea. Ever since his childhood he has demonstrated his qualities. He was the best student in his village‟s school and the most appreciated student of the Pedagogic Institute; he wrote the most successful thesis for the Doctor of Sciences degree. Yet, among all his virtues, he also had a „weakness”: he liked to read; he was striving for knowledge; he promoted the truth and defied dishonesty. These particular „features” caught the attention of the security services. As a young man and until the end, he worked with abnegation. His colleagues (students and teachers) admired him; he wrote articles and poetry. He wrote a theses for the Doctor of Sciences degree and also wrote a monograph; nevertheless, all his achievements have been neglected, terminated and erradicated. None of them carried over to the next generations. This was the destiny of a talent supervised by the totalitarian Communist regime, in which Dumitru Batrânsea believed only at the beginning of his career.
