Rezumat

Introduction: to study the effectiveness of ozone therapy in chronic viral hepatitis “C”. Materials and methods: We observed 56 patients with chronic viral hepatitis “C” (30 men and 26 women) aged from 35 to 61 years, mean age 44,6 ± 4,6. The disease duration at patients is about 8 to 20 years (mean 12,4 ± 4,7 years). All patients were examined by a unique plan. Depending on the type of medication, patients were distributed into two equivalent groups. The first group consisted of 30 people, who in the range of therapeutic interventions, along with basic drugs, has been included ozone therapy in the form of intravenous infusions of ozonated saline solution, which were held every day a total of 12 procedures. The second group included 26 patients who received only basic therapy. At the end of treatment all patients submitted a positive dynamics of clinical symptoms, but the extent of these changes in patients of first group was higher than that of patients in second group. Parallel to this, the patients of group 1 ALT levels decreased from 256,12±21,8 mmol/l to80,49±9,9 mmol/l. (p<0,01). While the second group of patients - from 254,43±19,8 mmol/l to155,32±10,8 mmol/l. (p<0,05). Similar changes were observed in the dynamics of other indicators of activity of the pathological process, and the degree of their severity, at patients in group 1 was significantly higher than that of patients in group 2. Conclusions: Including ozone therapy in the complex treatment of chronic viral hepatitis “C” we can significantly increase the effectiveness of treatment and reduce the activity of the pathological process.
