The radical prostatectomy is the fundamental therapeutic option for the patients with localized prostate cancer in a good biological state and for a long lifetime. Material and methods: In the Oncological Institute from Moldova, during the years 2007-2013, has been elaborated and performed a study about the radical treatment of prostate cancer through the retropubic prostatectomy. The diagnosis was established on the basis of performed investigations: digital rectal examination, TRUS, prostatic biopsy, CT, MRI and scheletal scintigraphy. Results: Thus, there are 57 examined patients with medium age of 60,2 years (49-72), distributed in accordance with the TNM classification in 3 groups: 1. T1N0M0 – 39%, 2. T2N0M0-51%, 3. T3N0M0 – 10%. All patients were operated through the method of radical retropubic prostatectomy. The medium duration of surgical intervention was – 202,1 minutes (140-270 minutes). The medium blood loss was 915.7 ml (300-2000 ml). The transfusion of eritrocitar masses and fresh frozen plasma were performed in 80% cases. The medium sizes of neoplasia were 1.5×1,6 cm (0,2×0,75 – 2,4×2,5 cm). The progression of oncological disease was appreciated in 6 cases. Conclusion: This study contributes to the elaboration of an optimal approach to the strategy of the treatment of the localized prostate cancer.
