In this paper, we analyze published works, which in varying degree of detail raises questions about the cult of the wolf the Gagauz, and ethno-cultural Parallels in this area. Quite detail available in Gagauzian point of view on the question of the origin and contents of the wolf cult among the Gagauz, who recently acquired a very controversial character. Analysis of the Gagauz historiography outlined the problems showed that there are two opposing points of view. Adherents of one of them, due to shared linguistic identity, emphasize the generality of the wolf cult Gagauz people have with other Turkic peoples. Proponents of the second perspective, exploring the characteristics of the forms and manifestations of contents the cult of the wolf among Turkic peoples and, at the same time, reveal the whole set of customs, rituals and beliefs that characterize the cult of the Gagauz. They draw attention to a significant resemblance to the wolf cult, typical of the peoples of the Balkan-Danube region (Bulgarians, Serbs, Romanians, etc.) |
