The possibility of maritime disputes, launched either by different interpretation of the existing conventions and treaties, or in the process of utilization of the maritime domain, should not be excluded, they being a reality as old as utilizations themselves. In practice, thought the UNO member states have the obligations to regulate their disputes peacefully, up till now there does not exist an international document to take into consideration a unitary settlement of this issue. As we know, international disputes in the maritime field have been settled, besides the cases of use of force, by negotiations, by appealing to settlements of an arbitrary committee or using a solicitor judiciary procedure.
