In the article Traditions and innovations in V.Ciolac’s Hymns of St. Liturgy for four-part female chorus are considered the questions of dramaturgy, structure and expressive means and devices in the work of Moldavian composer who has devoted his works mainly to the religious music. The author proves the traditional character of this work which is focused on Russian choral culture, proceeding from the exact following to the church text of a liturgy, its stylistic; are especially noted the distinguishing features of the composer’s choral writing style.
