Rezumat | ||||||
Ocular tumors or metastases of systemic tumors in the eye can lead to increased IOP and irreversible alteration of ocular structures through several pathogenetic pathways. IOP elevation is proportional to tumor type, location, and size. Management of intraocular tumors with secondary glaucoma consists mainly in the elimination of viable tumor cells. IOP control can be performed conservatively or surgically (en-block resections of the iris and ciliary body, plaque brachytherapy, external beam radiation, or in advanced cases enucleation of the eyeball). |
