Stelian Dumistrăcel is renowned for his remarkable scientific spirit in the Romanian linguistics, especially in dialectology. His activity is well-known in Romania and at Chișinău as well. He described the dialectal investigation, based on AFLR model, as a ‘particular form of communication’ which is reflected in the dialectal text, especially in its orality. The proposed formula ‘Ethno and oral sociotexts’ reflects the methodology followed in compiling the works based on dialectal texts. As an author of linguistic atlases he was also involved in the multitude of linguistic geography’s theoretical and practical activities, such as researching the regional varieties from the perspective of collecting and geographically interpreting the dialectal material.
