The article examines the correlation between „good” governance and „good” democracy, in the sense that, good governance, as a matter of the effectiveness of political power, overall is a complex one and of significance for the destiny of citizens and society, and democracy, as a form of political organization and method of government with its principles and mechanisms, possesses both advantages and certain disadvantages and limitations in the development of the democratic regime. Particular attention is paid to identifying the aporetic difficulties faced by the Republic of Moldova during about three decades of independence, highlighting first of all the democratic deficit with its manifestations. It is concluded that without good governance there can be no „good” democracy and vice versa. The system of government, which corresponds to the norms, principles and democratic institutions, presupposes the government with and for the people, for the people, for the city, the government having as fundamental purpose the prevalence of the „common good”. |
