The concept of “classification” is an intersectoral institution of all legislation, and “classification of convicts” during the period of execution of punishment in the form of deprivation of liberty is an institution of penitentiary law, which, in order to achieve the goals of punishment, allows classification of convicts on various grounds. The most widely used in science and practice is the classification of convicts according to the degree of correction based on the positive and negative orientation of their behavior. The degree of correction is considered as the most important multi-aspect basis for the classification of convicts, and the behavior of the convict during the period of serving the sentence is considered as the basis for referring him to a certain group, allocated depending on the degree of correction. |
