Rezumat

This article describes functionalities and specific features of the 'DICOM Network' informational system that provides possibility to collect, process, archive, distribute and visualize data in DICOM format. Presented technical and architecture details and proved the benefits for end users to use the system for secure access to DICOM investigations. DICOM format and protocols described in the article makes paper useful for researches in this domain. Modern medical information systems integrate various types of medical equipment, so article describes the actual problems and possible solutions for optimization of medical radiography investigations storing and processing. There were analyzed the processes of application integration into VI-SEEM platform and provided information about approaches of the system development and implementation at national and international levels. The system functionalities can be interesting for specialists that are developing and integrating medical radiography in complex informational systems and researchers in this domain. The paper is showing how the system can save time of medical staff, increase economical effectiveness and quality of provided services for beneficiary institutions.
