Currently, the concept of eco-economy is an important element of the Republic of Moldova state policy within environmental protection. The framework of eco-economy concept assumes harmonious coordination between economic, environmental, and social components, that are based on the general principles of sustainable development. Greening the economy is a new growth factor for the Republic of Moldova, considering environmental protection as one of the driving forces of economic development, which requires a new specific management system, new approaches, methods and tools. Nevertheless, there are a number of unsolved problems, including the lack of a clear and consistent definition of the eco-economy as the basis for promising environmentally friendly technologies and the absence of environmental quality management tools that allow technology assessment used for environmental friendliness. It is obvious that the solution of the indicated problems will be one of the conditions for the successful implementation of measures that must be taken to reduce harmful effects on the environment and restore natural complexes. The aim of this study is to analyze the concept of eco-economy and to assess the environmental quality management tools for managing the development of the eco-economy in the Republic of Moldova. The methodological approache of the research is based on the use of scientific-general, economic-managerial and special methods, as well as the methods of managerial analysis.
