Each paradigm of education has different perspective on the purpose of education. It is important to be aware of the various paradigms of education because they influence educations design and practice – how students are taught, how they are assessed, what is valued and included in curriculum. Awareness of the different paradigms and how they work together can support alignment of teaching and assessment approaches. The major educational challenge of the 21st century is the acquisition of new sets of skills required by students and teachers alike. These skills may include critical thinking, problem-solving, artificial intelligence, creativity, and adaptability to new circumstances. |
