Rezumat

The challenges during the pandemic crisis are becoming more and more felt in all branches of the world and national economy of the Republic of Moldova. Tourism is among the most affected sectors, with a massive decline in international demand amid global travel restrictions, including many borders are completely closed to retain the virus. This paper represents the analysis of the situation of the global tourism economy, but also nationally during the presence of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. This paper analyzed global statistical information and data from UN, UNWTO, WHO, and the National Bureau of Statistics. All the analyzed data will be exposed in extenso in the article itself. At the national level, tourism is as affected as the international one, thus a decrease of the internal and external tourism can be observed.Approaching this topic is also a personal problem, being a former student of the tourism faculty, after finishing her studies it was not possible to get employed in the field.Which is a huge risk to millions of human resources that are endangered due to the spread of the virus, but also due to the imposition of national and global restrictions. We can conclude that economic agents in the field of tourism need to continuously review the way they organize their business and adapt to pandemic changes. In this context, the proper functioning of processes depends directly on the efficient management of financial resources, combined with changing strategies and approaches.
