Background. Sensitization to house dust mites is one of the most common causes of allergy. There are identified 30 groups of house dust mites allergens, from which more frequent are 1, 2 and 23, considered as major allergens. Clinical features usually are respiratory, but also they can be digestive or systemic. Objective of the study. Analysis of particularities of sensitization to house dust mites allergens in patients with respiratory allergies (allergic rhinitis and asthma) in Republic of Moldova. Material and Methods. In descriptive, retrospective study were included 100 patients with allergic rhinitis and asthma, mean age 32 years, 55% women și 45% men. We analized sensitization profile for house dust mites through multiplex Alex Allergy Explorer. We analized specific immunoglobulins E to alergenic extracts and molecular components (major and minor allergens). Results. Sensitization to house dust mites were present in 47% of patients. To the most clinically important house dust mites, Dermatophagoides pteronissinus and Dermatophagoides farina, were sensitized 33%. Sensitization to major molecules were prezent on: Der p 1 18% cases, Der p 2 33% cases, Der p 23 19% cases, Der f 1 20% cases, Der f 2 32% cases. To Blo t 5 from Blomia tropicalis were sensitized 3% of patients, to Acarus siro 1% cases, Gly d 2 from Glycyphagus domesticus 11% cases and to Lep d 2 from Lepidoglyphus destructor 15% cases. Majority (83%) of patients were from urban medium. Conclusion. Der p 2 and Der f 2 are the most frequent molecules that cause sensitization in patients with respiratory allergies (allergic rhinitis and asthma). This may be important in the exposure avoidance strategy and the selection of allergen immunotherapy |
