Objective of the study was to conduct a sociological analysis of the positive and negative aspects of development of the Olympic movement to adjust the rules and format of organization of Youth Olympics. Methods and structure of research. A survey method was used to find out the attitude of the sports university faculty, coaches and specialists in the sport sector to the existing Youth Olympic Games procedural regulations. The survey was held in December 2019 with 50 leading experts in the physical education and sports sector involved. The basic data array method was used to determine the sample. The questionnaire included 10 questions meant to identify the positive and negative aspects of development of the youth Olympic movement. Research results and conclusions. In the sociological survey, the subjects were suggested adjusting the format of the Youth Olympic Games, which includes grouping participants by age into 15-16 and 17-18 year old groups, participation of amateur athletes in competitions as opposed to professional athletes, etc.
