After literary works and articles, the Journals represent undoubtedly the most sincere mirror of Paul Goma, not in the meaning of Narcissist reflection, but in that of reflecting Romanian and world history, in the way he saw it and continues to see it, being a great “rebellious” and merciless spirit, the one that lives his entity according to Eminescu’s understanding of the truth. The Journals are an alternative history of Romanian and Europe since 1978. The thing that should be mentioned in these writings and articles is not only the record number of journal pages in the world literature, but the fact that they have become a form of his struggle and recording of contemporary history.
