The high mortality rate (over 40%) at the beginning of the thyroid surgery decreased
dramatically in parallel with the development of anesthetic techniques. These days, new
medical devices and new drugs make the surgery of the thyroid much safer. However,
there are some pitfalls that have to be taken into account when working for the best
interest of the patient. |
