Rezumat

Due to the inefficiency of its own natural and financial resources that are needed for economical growth, the achievement of some economical objectives and to cover the budget deficit the state has to turn to outside resources. Any resource requested by the state from other states or foreign legal entities becomes its external debt. The study of foreign debt is a matter of interest for any country because it is an important part of relations among states internationally, especially in the context of globalization. The study of the particularities of the external debt of the Republic of Moldova show that it tends to increase due to the long period of transition to market economy and the global economic crisis.
