Rezumat

Research conducted of the species L. angustifolia was completed with the selection of the best performing lavender hybrids, classified by vegetation period, distinctive quantitative traits that determine productivity, including increased essential oil content and quality. The main goal proposed in the improvement of the species Lavender angustifolia is the creation of new varieties-clones with increased essential oil content and high productivity. The evaluation of the hybrids included in the research was performed in accordance with the methods in force and followed a series of quantitative characters that directly influence productivity, such as: plant size, length of inflorescence, length of flower stem, length of flower spike, number of vertices per inflorescence, number of inflorescences per plant, vegetation period, essential oil content. The essential oil was separated from fresh inflorescences during the full flowering of the plants by hydro distillation. The content of essential oil was higher for the late varieties: Fr.5S8-24 - 5.623% dry matter. and Alba 7 - 5.788% dry matter. For the early varieties Moldoveanca 4 and Fr.8-5-15V, this index was 5.107 and 4.991%. At the entry on fruit, the harvest of raw material constituted from 2.8 to 4.4t/ha depending on the variety, more productive being the late varieties Fr.5S8-24 (4.4t/ha), Alba 7 (4.0t/ha). The varieties formed high yields of essential oil for fruiting: from 35.7 kg / ha to the Vis Magic 10 variety to 83.8 and 87.1 to the Alba 7 and Fr.5S8-24 varieties, respectively. Efficiency of the varieties is high: for the late varieties 19.7; 21.0kg/t (Fr.5S8-24; Alba 7), over 17kg essential oil/ton of inflorescences for the early varieties (Moldoveanca 4; Fr.8-5-15V) and over 13kg/ton for the other varieties. The results obtained in the second year of vegetation, in drought conditions we can see that the clone varieties, they are distinguished by: increased productivity and high essential oil content.
