Rezumat

The specialized literature on migration highlights a significant relationship between parents who migrate and the development of mental health problems in children left behind. These problems put their mark on preteens' ability to adapt in school and socially. The purpose of the paper is to evaluate the school adaptation capacity of a 13-year-old preteen D. S. who was abandoned by his mother following the father's migration and to explain the management capacity of the school adaptation, related to the parents' migration for an unspecified period. The following instruments were used to evaluate the capacity of school adaptation: the heterosexual evaluation scale for the TRS A-BASC 2 adolescent, the adolescent self-assessment scale SRP A-BASC 2, the SOS student observation system BASC 2, the historically structured SDH BASC 2 development. The results of the study revealed that the pre-adolescent has major difficulties in adapting to school after his father leaved for work abroad. Six months later, the family is dismantled. The pre-adolescent exhibits problematic behavior during the course hours, has difficulties in emotional expression and presents aggressive language and behavior in the relationship with female persons. The pre-adolescent becomes sometimes, incapable of managing his behavioral disorders as well as of establishing healthy social relationships. There is a high possibility that in the absence of parental control as well in the absence of specialized intervention for the pre-adolescent, he will adopt risk behaviors.
