Gender education is a crucial social activity for the individual and modern society. The social experiences resulting from the interaction between the individual and the group within the educational environment encourage the construction of gender and class identities by interpreting the educational standards and practices and the social interactions in schools. Creating more equal academical chances for students begins in the classroom and with the teacher. A valuable teacher is one who treats their students adequately and creates conditions where students feel free and equally able to take part. The teachers must use strategies for promoting gender sensitivity during classroom interactions like giving equal chances to both female and male students to answer questions, extending positive reinforcement to both women and men. Teachers must apply these strategies using teaching methods and learning materials that take into account the specific learning needs of female and male students. |
