There are not so many marine services in the world which do have a tall ship of A class for preparing cadets and for representing a nation in the most remote countries. The great nations who confronted in the most famous naval battle from Trafalgar: France and Great Britain, countries that have a tremendous naval tradition don’t have such a piece of jewel. The school ship- barque „Mircea”, the successor of the famous bric „Mircea”, gathers all the naval traditions over the centuries of the Romanians just like in a vivid museum, but she also represents the first crew for each and every officer or petty officer in the Romanian Naval Forces. The first crew just like the first love is never to be forgotten and we, the authors of this article, shall never forget it either. |
