The legal nature and the features of the representative authorities represent a challenging field of stuy with implications for the whole democtratic system as it exists now. Even from the signing of the Declaration of the rights of the human and the citizen the principle of the equality of the citizen before law and their right to exercise their sovereignty through free and universal elections have been stated as a fundamental democratic principle. The representative authorities powers come from this sovereignty sharing system and their legal nature results from it. |
