Realization of geopolitical interests of states has existed since ancient times, but gradually it took different forms. If until the twentieth century the great powers where focused on territorial expansion, now continues the fight to maintain control of areas rich in energy resources. Twentieth century was the century of oil as the nineteenth century was that of coal. The oil begins to migrate to the surface areas under the influence of high pressure. All modern industry depends on petroleum and its products; material structure and the life style in communities witch surround the big cities are the result of extensive and inexpensive oil supply.
